A girl and her shoes
I'm hoping to take on photography project 365 or 52 come 2013. I plan on revamping this blog to focus more on the photos and I'm hoping to get some followers and we can support each other throughout the year.
In the meantime here's my attempt at lifestyle photography. These photos would be perfect if I was doing project 52 (I fell off the wagon for my 52 this year!) or 365 this year. It's moments like these that I hope to capture more of in 2013!
Jillian at 21/2 LOVES dressing up and trying on shoes! It's probably her most favorite thing to do at home!
Wasn't I just the luckiest when the other morning I discovered her trying on my shoes (that I wore at my mother-in-law's wedding the night before) and the most beautiful light was streaming through the window right above the exact spot she was standing in!! Seriously, it couldn't of been more perfect if I had set it up!

Welcome Baby Boy
It's been so long since I've posted and I'm so behind in capturing all that's been going on in our lives that rather than go crazy trying to catch up I'm just going to start anew.
This little guy is the main reason I've been MIA.....
Here are some pics from his newborn session we used for his baby announcements.
It's been 3 months since we welcomed Andrew Nicholas born August 21, 2012! We are so blessed to have this beautiful baby! Our family is complete and we couldn't be happier. These past three months have been a whirlwind of sleep deprived days of chaos but we are finally settling into somewhat of a routine. Life is crazy with a 4 year old, 2 year old, and a 3 month old but we wouldn't want it any other way!
Here's a more current photo of our sweet baby boy!
Glad to back to blogging!!

Jillian turns 2
On March 22, 2012 my baby girl turned two years old!!
We had a small Sesame Street party with family. I'll post those pics in another post. Last year I started books for the girls of letters written to them by me on their birthday and 1st day of school. Here's Jillian's.
Dear Jillian,
You are no longer my little baby anymore and I'm not quite sure exactly when it happened, that transition from babyhood to toddlerhood. I do remember recently rocking you in your chair before bed and being amazed at how much you've grown. Now, your feet dangle off the chair when not so long ago I could cradle all of you in my arms. Very recently you've started to want to do things all by yourself. Yesterday I was trying to put your shoe on and you said "No mommy, I do myself." I don't quite remember the exact day or time but somewhere in this past year you went from uttering some words to having full blown conversations with me, daddy and Mallory. You are constantly asking questions "Mommy, what's that sound?", "Why did you turn that off?", "We have Mac and Cheese for dinner, mommy?". I remember looking at you as a little baby and wondering what you'd be like, what type of personality you would have, what would make you giggle. This past year going from a one year old to a two year old your little personality has exploded! You are outgoing, waving hi to anyone that passes you in the cart at Target. Your beautiful brown curly hair seems to suit your bubbly loud disposition. You giggle over tickled feet and silly songs. You adore Mallory and in typical little sister fashion you want to do and say what she does, yet you are independent and stand your ground when necessary. You are a little love bug, a snuggler and ever so affectionate. I love how you say "kisses mommy" and pucker your little round lips to kiss me. I love when I cuddle with you, your head rests on my shoulder and I feel your little tiny hands rhythmically patting my back. That little gesture is so you, that's my Jillian. I'm not exactly sure the day, week or month but somewhere in the everyday-ness of our lives this past year the baby I once had truly turned into my little girl. You make me a better person just by being you and I will forever know I am the lucky one to be your mommy.
Happy 2nd Birthday sweet Jillian Faith.
Love,
Mommy

My Ballerina
She cried for the for the first few months of dance class. We were ready to pull her after the session we had paid for was over. I knew she really liked going because she talked about it all the time. She never said she didn't want to go but once we were there she just had it in her head that she should cry.
Finally after her teacher encouraged us to sign her up again and not give up this past January her new session began and she has loved every minute! Her recital is in May and I'm pretty certain I will be needing a box of tissues to accompany me as I watch the show.
At 31/2 years old she's not into princesses, barbies or baby dolls. But boy oh boy does she LOVE to sing and dance!! It's almost like it's just who she is and who she's always been...it's just so much a part of her.
Secretly if she never get into the princesses or barbies I will not be sad in the least. It's not like she's not exposed to it- she's seen the Disney movies and has princess type toys but it has yet to really stick. Really I am okay with that.
For now I'll take my little wide eyed ballerina just how she is....
